Quigley Shooting Association
Ken Hall
26th September 1946 - 5th October 2018
A great friend and mentor over the last few years to me and many others over his lifetime.
Ken was a keen advocate of black powder and encouraged many of us to "give it a go". His enthusiasm and knowledge will be sorely missed.
Ken was the main driving force behind the QSA and his many roles have been difficult to fill, even to a poor standard.
In memory of Kens work with the PSSA, his friends in Practical Shotgun, underlever and the Quigley Shooting Association presented the club with a memorial plaque.
Hope your having a "hog killin" with Dougie.
John Ellin June 13th 2018
a keen shooter and published author, he was 75 years young and had been in ill health for some time suffering from pulmonary fibrosis. On our shoots he would often surprise fellow shooters with his accomplishments using his original Henry Lancaster rifle in .45/100 calibre, including winning the 1000yd Billy Dixon competition in 2016. Sadly John lost his good wife Margaret a few years ago and so our thoughts are with his daughter Karen, he will be missed by all who knew him and were proud to call him friend. Rest In Peace John.
Dougie Herod
09/06/1945 - 25/01/2018
Douglas ‘Dougie’ Herod died in his sleep after being treated for lung and heart difficulties but his death took his family and friends by complete surprise.
Dougie was a keen member at Diggle and a popular black powder shooter. He was always keen to help others and kept everyone straight on the underlever shoots. He was also a member of KATTA and a very good knife maker. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and were proud to call him friend. Rest In Peace buddy.........
