Reading the VERNIER SIGHT.
Ken Hall
The graduations on the fixed scale of the sight equate to fractions of inches (historically called points, 100 points to the inch) each ¼ inch representing 25 points. We have already established that with a sight radius of around 34 to 36 inches each point equates to approximately one minute of angle.
For our purpose we can assume that a change of one minute would effect a change to the point of impact by one inch at 100yds, two at 200yds and three at 300yds.
Below you see a diagram, courtesy of the BPCR of America, which clearly explains how to read and adjust the Vernier sight.
